Jared Sullinger from Ohio State Wins StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week - March 12th, 2012

With a solid performance that included going up against the #8 team in the nation, Jared Sullinger, a 6-9 sophomore from Ohio State, has won the StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. Florida's Bradley Beal is the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week and Colorado State's Jesse Carr is StatSheet's NCAA 6th Man of the Week. Sullinger put up an impressive 24 points per game, 60% shooting, and 9 rebounds per game in victories against Purdue and 10th ranked Michigan and a loss to Michigan State.

Sullinger led scoring (30) and rebounding (12) for the Buckeyes in an 88-71 win against Purdue. He then led the team in scoring (24) and rebounding (6) in a huge 77-55 victory over Michigan. Lastly, Sullinger led scoring (18) and rebounding (9) in a 68-64 loss to Michigan State.

This is the first StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week honor for Jared Sullinger. However, he has come in second once and received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is Kansas State junior Jordan Henriquez-Roberts. Honorable mention goes to Saint Mary's senior Rob Jones.

StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week: Florida's Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal played an average of 37 minutes starting both games for the Gators. In a hard-fought 66-63 win over Alabama, Beal led scoring and rebounding with 16 and 7, respectively. In a 74-71 loss to Kentucky, he led rebounding with 8 and also had 5 assists.

Beal has won the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week an astounding 3 times. The runner-up is Anthony Davis from Kentucky. Honorable mention goes to Andre Hollins from Minnesota.

StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week: Colorado State's Jesse Carr

Junior Jesse Carr averaged 31 minutes over two games for the Rams. In a big 81-60 win over TCU, Carr chalked up 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Then in a 79-69 loss to San Diego State, he contributed 17 points and 2 assists.

This is the first time this season Carr has won the StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week award. David Pellom, a junior forward from George Washington, is runner-up. Dave Barnett, a senior guard/forward from Buffalo, wins honorable mention.
