Trey Burke from Michigan Wins StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week - February 4th, 2013

With a solid performance that included going up against the #3 team in the nation, Trey Burke, a 6-0 sophomore from Michigan, is the StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. StatSheet's NCAA Freshman of the Week is Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart and Kyle Wiltjer from Kentucky is StatSheet's NCAA 6th Man of the Week. Burke put up an impressive 21.5 points per game and 8 assists per game in a win against Northwestern and a loss to Indiana.

Burke led all scoring for the Wolverines with 18 points and added 8 assists in a big 68-46 win against Northwestern. He then led the team in scoring (25) and added an additional 8 assists in an 81-73 loss to Indiana.

This is the first time this season that Trey Burke has been named StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Keith Appling, a junior from Michigan State. Honorable mention goes to Markel Brown, a junior from Oklahoma State.

StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week: Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart

Marcus Smart played an average of 38 minutes starting both games for the Cowboys. In a hard-fought 78-76 win over Iowa State, Smart took the lead in scoring with 21 points while churning out 7 assists. Against Kansas, in a tight 85-80 win, he led rebounding with 9 and also had 5 steals.

This is the first StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week award for Smart. The runner-up is Nerlens Noel from Kentucky. Honorable mention goes to A.J. Hammons from Purdue.

StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week: Kentucky's Kyle Wiltjer

Sophomore Kyle Wiltjer averaged 33 minutes over two games for the Wildcats. In an 87-74 shocker over Ole Miss, Wiltjer led the Wildcats scoring and rebounding with 26 and 7. Then while escaping Texas A&M, 72-68, he contributed 5 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

This is the first time this season Wiltjer has won the StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week award. Jordair Jett, a junior guard from Saint Louis, is runner-up. Aaron Fuller, a senior forward from USC, wins honorable mention. Reggie Johnson finished 10th and was the highest ranking 6th man from Miami (FL).
